UsesProzac Gets RUBY! (Femme Talk)
Attention Siftlandia!

Rubydom has been achieved by none other than our dear @UsesProzac. Yeaaaah... that's right peeps. She is also now the official *Cute Channel moderator. We're like, Channel sisters now!

She is a sophisticated music conoisseur, and enjoys discovering and submitting a lot of quality music herself. I have had the personal pleasure of talking to her and getting to know her on the Sift over the years, as others have, and have a lot of respect and admiration for her and her wicked sense of humor and raw honesty, but with a lot of heart beneath it all.

Let us all congratulate her for this milestone. Enjoy! It IS the prettiest gem!

UP's name is Laura, so here's some pretty music to serenade your milestone. <3 <3 <3 You are a gem! (Also mainly because the songs I found titled "Ruby" were downright crappy!)

CONGRATS to our own @ctrlaltbleach http://videosift.com/member/ctrlaltbleach
who has just achieved Diamond status! He's quite the Sifter, a fellow RADIOHEAD fan, the owner of the *FRENCH channel, Lounge bud extraordinaire and all around great guy.

We're gonna party like it's Midnight in Paris!

Let's give him a big HOORAH with many FISTBUMPS and 'SPLOSIONS!

DO IT NOW.

Way To GO @ctrlaltbleach, you pillar of SIFT.

I'm going to need a new HD at this rate (also available in MP3 320, ogg vorbis, and all the other bandcamp formats)...

http://www.futuresequence.com/releases/sequence-two/

Stumbled across this the other day... www.ektoplasm.com http://www.ektoplazm.com/

I probably dled 2 GB of ambient alone...lots of great downtempo albums there (free, and legal, more importantly). All in FLAC (which I promptly converted to ALAC)!

I <3 freelectronica.
Good psytrance too, though I am less of a fan of that personally.

Sorry if this reads like spam, it's not. Just sharing the love I am in no way affiliated.

EDIT: thanks, speechless. I'm a moron! Link fixed.

I'm on the hunt for new music. I need something that's new to me and want a band/sound that is going to go further than one song that's ok with the rest being "meh."

So I turn to you sifters; list one album either new or old that you know you can listen to all the way through.

Some guidelines:
--Post a track listing here
--Post one or two (small) embeds so fellow music seekers can get a feel for what the band is like
--Post a short explanation of why you like said album

I'll make the first post below but I'm really looking forward to seeing what people come up with

The Sift has been good to me, musically. It's introduced me to a range of artists, from the Deep Dark Woods to Spoon to Adele.

I've been thinking recently about musical sources - that is, where do you find your music? I have some friends I rely on for good tips, the Sift and to a lesser extent, radio and TV.

I guess I have fairly eclectic tastes, so I find music websites are generally too specific or hit/miss to be a reliable source of new artists for my collection.

But I'd be interested in any tips for more sources. Where do you source your musical discoveries from?

Let's share some of what we've been listening to lately!

Have you ever been frustrated by the fact that an awesome piece of music doesn't have a great video and therefore isn't acceptable to the video sift palate? I am continually irritated that in our digitally friendly world the wonderful eclectic choices that exist are hard to find. So I propose that video sift adopt a channel or tab that exists for the sole purpose of sharing music. Thoughts?

It's like his feet make little Sonic Booms when they strike the ground!

My older brother and i have been in music since we could hold guitars it seems. My projects have always been small and personal while my brother has had great success, albeit mostly on a local scale, the biz is a bitch to break into as it were. After getting out of the army 3 years ago and moving back home my brother and his former bandmates had an entire for a new project with me in mind. after a loooooong start finding our groove, defining our artistic vision, we're a few months from completing our first EP for release. If this puts us on the map, awesome. If it doesnt, which statistically speaking is more likely, we're still proud of the music we've created and nothing is more intoxicating than giving music goers a sound and vibe that melts faces and blows minds.

So in an effort to broaden our audience i invite you to check out our page and download FOR FREE our two strongest songs.
our reverbnation.com page where you can download for FREE Feed and Hold On: http://www.reverbnation.com/wolvesmusic - you can also view our bio and other information here as well as a collection of live videos of our performances (more to come soon)
our soundcloud.com page where we host all of our music: http://soundcloud.com/wolvestulsa

Our music is heavily inspired by a multitude of different genre defining acts such as Deftones, Mars Volta, Radiohead, Themselves, Demon Hunter, Sigur Ros, HIM and many others. Our creative vision is to create music that evokes an atmosphere of death, sexuality, and ambience, an emotional and mental storm of transcendence. Please, check it out (cant emphasize enough TWO FREE DOWNLOADS) and give your feedback (much appreciated). We've got something for everyone.....except country music fans, fuck you (only kidding)

check our sites (linked above) often as we keep em updated regularly with new videos, pictures, and music as we mix and master them (we've got about 5 just right now that we're putting polish on that should be posted in a week or two)

Thanks Sifters! =)
