Groove Armada - I See You Baby
Peter Gabriel - Don't Give Up
Blues Traveler - The Mountains Win Again
Mad Season - River of Deceit
Barenaked Ladies - Call & Answer
R.E.M. - Imitation of Life
Elliot Smith - The Morning After

Ben Lee - Cigarettes Will Kill You
Deftones - Change
Well, I don't have an MP3 player, so I just loaded up my entire collection in winamp and hit randomize playlist. Here's what I came up with:
1. Beatsystem - Endlessly Downward
This is exactly what it sounds like. It is a 3 minute track of a repeating loop of tones that sound like they are going downward, endlessly. It is kind of a auditory version of barbershop pole.
2. Transwave - The Rezwalker (London Live Remix)
The first of several classic goa trance tracks that ended up here. I do have a fair collection of old goa on here, I suppose, but they are unfairly represented in this list, which is just fine. I love this music.
3. Finski Disco - Speaking in Lungs
Now this is really really weird stuff. Finland psytrance is some of the most interesting music I've heard in years.
4. Acrid Abeyance - 303 Delight
Classic, screaming, hard acid techno music. 303 delight, indeed.
5. Pleiadians - Alcyone
Another classic goa track. Alcyone is the name of a star in the pleadian star cluster.
6. Cause 4 Concern - Research
Drum and bass.
7. St. Germain - Montego Bay Spleen
This is the closest thing to an embarassment on my list. OK, it's almost mainstream jazzy house music. It's cool though.
8. Chris Watson - Adult Cheetah resting by the Baobob tree.
An actual recording of a Cheetah, purring as it rests by a tree. If you turn it up loud, it sounds crazy- almost like you're in a cheetah's mouth!
9. Shpongle - Periscopes of Consciousness
10. Infected Mushroom - Semi Nice
These should be self-explanatory.
Wow, did I ever luck in. What a great list!
I did this same meme on livejournal years ago. Here's my results from back then:
http://djsunkid.livejournal.com/12961.html
OMG MGRock, How did you hack my "Swampy Royale with Cheese" playlist!?! Authorities!!!

bull in the heather - breeders
the day after - flash
if you want my love - depeche mode
9:45 - PM dawn

21 things - alanis morrisette
antenna kraftwerk
kalimba - EWF
stand back up - sugarland
1. Micheal Land - "Rollercoaster of Death (mix)"
A so-so remix of a Monkey Island track. Not off to a good start!
2. Vangelis - "The Little Fete"
Booooring. Insta-skip.
3. Taika - "Shining in the Darkness - Down in the Dungeon Just Creatures and Me"
A remix of music from some game I've never played, from OCRemix.org
4. Ray Lynch - "Ivory"
Too slow for my mood. Skip!
5. Judas Priest - "Leather Rebel [Live]"
Not his best stuff... skip.
6. Captain Dan - "7 Seas"
Captain Dan & the Scurvy Crew perform authentic pirate hip hop.
"Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum, bitch!"
Awesome
7. Mazedude - "Super Metroid Norfair Deathmarch"
I love mazedude's tracks, but Norfair is kinda slow. Another from OCRemix.org
8. FFmusicDJ - "Hidden Palace Future"
Sonic 2 remix, gets off to a slow start, but speeds up eventually. OCRemix.org
9. whoever made the music for Sonic 2 - "Hill Top"
Original music from the Hill Top Zone. Yay!
10. Yo-Yo Ma - "Samambaia"
A resounding "meh"
I have a lot of music that I don't like thanks to Napster (the new, legal one). But I'm too lazy to actually sort them out (there are a couple thousand at least), so I end up skipping a lot of tracks.
Also did what DJ did.
Groove Armada - At The River
The Police - Man In A Suitcase
Kansas - Closet Chronicles
Saul Williams - Talk To Strangers
NOFX - Please Play This Song On The Radio

Sevendust - Enemy
Enya - Boadicea
Otep - God is a Gun
Depeche Mode - Policy of Truth
Woody Guthrie - Vigilante Man
The Left Rights - Darth Vader (Who Gives a Sith)
TOOL - Schism
Nice to see Shpongle and Infected Mushroom on your list, dsjunkid, hadn't listened to them IN YEARS, literally! And Saint Germain is nothing to be ashamed of, even with their popularity.
So here's my 10 cent:
1. Bear McCreary - Something Dark Is Coming (BSG Season 2)
Dark ambient. One of the best tracks from _the_ best TV series soundtrack ever created, I shit you not. We're off to a great start; McCreary is exactly what I hoped to see on my list.
2. Joke Society - Morphing Morning
From Cafe Del Mar SunSand. Yes, I confess guilty as charged, I'm one of the Cafe Del Mar obsessed.
3. Faithless - We Come One
4. Awake On A Train - Múm
Their 2000 "Yesterday Was Dramatic - Today Is OK" is one of the best albums in the world, period. This masterpiece of theirs is even better than Sigur Ros (they're both icelandic). We're doing a lot better than I expected.
5. Obstacle 1 - Interpol
Again, "Turn On The Bright Lights" was one hell of an album. Thank you, people that helped me sift some of their stuff. This is indie rock at its best.
6. Ace Of Spades - Motörhead
7. Evergreen (Dusted Remix) - Faithless
From Hed Kandi's Winter Chill 3, this is one of my favorite lounge/chillout tracks of all time. Excellent mix, too, a lot better than original, which is definitely saying something.
8. Jumbo - Underworld
9. All Along The Watchtower - Bear McCreary (BSG Season 3)
Best modern cover of this masterpiece. A tune of harps and sitar pave the way for a surprisingly powerful progressive guitar. I strongly suggest you google/youtube it.
10. Knights of Cydonia - Muse
Well, I must say, I never expected this to turn out as well as it did. Thank you, trusty shuffle, I may now actually use more of you in the future. And thanks for starting this experiment, dft

09. 凛として時雨 - セルジオ越後(LIVE in 高崎フリーズ) [として]

10. GUIDO - 時の最果て [クロノトリガー 「ザ・ブリンク・オブ}
39;タイム」]
i.e. The End of Time [Chrono Trigger "The Brink of Time"]
(this is a really really tight sort of Acid Jazz arrangement album of 10 songs from Chrono Trigger, and I love it muchly)
Well...this is the reason I don't really listen to my music on shuffle. The volume of Japanese rock and indie rock on there makes it so that the odds of busting out any of the other Western music I love is a little low, but the awesomeness of it starting with my favorite band on random was pretty neat. I was pleasantly surprised that The Jam managed to pop up, since due to space issues I currently only have that one album in here right now.
Awesome fun!
1. Doris Day - I'll be Home for Christmas
2. Hammerfall - The Champion
3. Yngwie Malmsteen - Andante
4. In Flames - Reflect the Storm
5. Scorpions - Always Somewhere
6. 50 Cent - G-Unit Soldiers - Make sure to crank up the volume for this one!
7. Cher - If I Could Turn Back Time
8. Weird Al - Like a Surgeon
9. Rush - Mr. Soul
10. Leningrad Cowboys - Sauna
In my defense on #6;
If you haven't watched the video: Imported my friends whole music folder.
If you have watched it: I couldn't resist
God damn it.

I don't know the track but from your description, I'd guess it's a Shepard Scale.
Well, similar effect, but continuous.
It's really neat. I just uploaded a clip onto youtube so you could hear:

Linked my selflinks, i swear it was random
Jeff Metal: Spooky

Benny Page: Indian Drums (the tabla sample from Sneaker Pimp on Cutterz Choice)
Some unlabelled dubstep mp3
Mikee Liks: Loving You
Mikee Liks: Soul Deep
DJ Shadow and Automator: My Guru
I'm quite pleased how that worked out. Funny thing is i play so much Mikee Liks on the radio it became a running joke, and now even my iTunes is in on the joke.
Awesome! I've been waiting for MINK's version. Now we just need farhad to do one.
i am just glad that nobody found out i have "Little Sparrow" and "The Grass is Blue" by Dolly Parton and they are two of my favourites.
D'oh!
01. Morcheeba - Howling
02. The Skydiggers - Elizabeth Josephine
03. Flogging Molly - If I Ever Leave This World Alive
04. The Skydiggers - Feel You Closer

08. Young Dubliners - Rocky Road to Dublin
09. Aimee Mann - I Can't Help You Anymore
10. PJ Harvey - Reeling
Why 4/10ths of the list is two different artists I don't know... nor why another 4/10ths is Irishy. I don't have *that* much of any of those, proportionately speaking.
