Madonna ~ Halftime Super Bowl XLVI

Details on the lineup here, among other sources: "The Material Girl treated the millions watching around the globe to a string of four songs, as she was dressed as Cleopatra upon entrance while performing "Vogue" followed by "Music"."
They sourced visual effects partly from Canada's Cirque de Soleil. Rather epic - even non-fans found this quite the production.

This is soooo much better than crappy Black Eyed Peas. The performance and choreography is pretty good and the inclusion with a few other people are nice. Amusing that LMFAO showed up for the "Music" Party Rock Anthem.

What is this narcissistic nightmare? Why is she famous? She is a mediocre singer, a mediocre dancer, produces mediocre songs and has shown little to no artistic growth for her 30+ year career. And what's with using younger, more interesting acts as fashion accessories? Wouldn't it be more interesting to let MIA, Cee Lo or LMFAO cut loose rather than have to watch Madonna lip sync her way through a late midlife crisis? And, unless you are Snoop Dogg, putting your own name in your own song is just sad.

I thought it was great, especially for a Superbowl Half-time show.

She lip-synced the entire show. Not impressed sorry. I agree with DFT. The new song sucks beyond compare and if this was a new artist they would be virtually ignored putting out a crap song like that. [Edit] That said, the stage was pretty damn sweet though. I was much more impressed with it than I was with Madonna.

hehe MIA flipped off the camera @8:19

I wonder how many of the millions watching actually noticed when it happened. And now that the media has latched onto that they'll pound the THINK OF THE CHILDREN, angel into the ground. The hilarity is kids have been flipping off cameras since class pictures were invented.

As far as the show, its probably the best one since the Janet Jackson and nipple gate.

Three things:
a) Yeah, a lip synced 'show' is hardly 'livemusic', so I don't think it fits there... and it makes me sad that people are fine with watching someone move around and pretend to sing like that
b) Who the fuck cares that she flipped the bird... man the outcry in America when someone does that is so FUCKING SAD. It's just so baffling to see American shows with someone flipping the bird being blurred out. Grow the fuck up
c) The staging of it was pretty sweet.

(I was going to link to a video of Meatloaf performing at our 2011 AFL grand final, because that was actually live and HORRIBLE... but it would seem he's done a good job of having all copies taken down)

But on that note it reminded me of a damn fine ad that ran during last year's AFL grand final... which hadn't been posted here. For shame! Shameless plug for own sift
